Trip to Seward

I ended up taking a trip to Seward this last week and had a blast. The road conditions were awful on the way down, with 6-12″ of slush and snow. By the time we had left to return to Anchorage and Wasilla, the roads had pretty much cleared. That’s when the wind decided to kick up. We ended up just staying in front of a storm front that continues in to today to blow through the area.

I love sea otters; I remember helping clean them after the Exxon Valdez oil spill in 1989
The Calamity Jane is a beautiful ship; a bit larger than I normally like to sail, personally, but I love her lines
Howling winds made this a cold spot to stand
Gorgeous windy day
Staying just ahead of the storm going back to Anchorage

I hadn’t been near the ocean for quite some time, so I thought I’d take a trip down. I invited Teresa to come along and we made a day of it; I had tried to get a hold of Keet earlier in the week, but I think he’s been busy, so, hopefully next time!

It really was chilly there
